Thinking About Sharing Our Learning--An Exploration of Possibilities!


THINKING ABOUT SHARING YOUR LEARNING!?!
BE CREATIVE!
BE INNOVATIVE!
Do something that you are going to enjoy making and sharing!
Think about your project—what you share should be connected to your question.
At the end of the project our goal for you is to have something you are proud of!
Here are some ideas for sharing. Today is about exploring some of these tools and ideas.  If you know a lot about one of these already….explore something different today!

On the iPads:
*iMovie
Make a movie, make a trailer

*Word Photo
Combine pictures and words to convey your idea

*Photofunia
Post information or pictures on unique photo displays

*Tellagami
Create and talking avatar and use it to share information

*ExplainEverything, Skitch, Educreations, ShowMe
All of these apps allow you to create a presentation with words and pictures, drawings and more

*AutoRap
Create a rap about your topic

*Sock Puppets, Puppet Pals or Toontastic
Try some different ways of presenting information

*IMotion
Use Stop Motion Video to tell a story

On the computer:

*Microsoft Power Point/Google Presentation
Do you really know what you can do with these tools?  How to embed pictures and text and make them interesting?

Present your main ideas

Create an online poster, include pictures, words, weblinks

Capstone Project Research Questions #resvt #cesuvt #vted

RES Fourth graders have been working on their interest-based Capstone Projects, and they have each developed a research question they will use to focus their investigations. We are so impressed by the thoughtfulness of the questions! Our students have a great breadth of interests, and we can't wait to see the results of their research!

Digital Learning Day #DLDay #vted #resvt #cesuvt

This morning fourth graders in Mrs. Rankin and Mrs. Redford's Enrichment Library Class participated in Digital Learning Day 2014 (DLD). DLD is "a nationwide celebration of innovative teachers and common-sense, effective applications of digital learning in America’s schools that support teachers, improve learning, and provide options for students to achieve at their highest potential." (from the official DLD website).

Our scholars spent their morning researching, taking notes, and creating citations for their independent "Capstone" projects. As they did this, they were practicing their skills in:
  • digital search strategies
  • creating digital sources (one scholar interviewed a local doctor for her project on diseases)
  • evaluating online sources (digital literacy)
  • citing sources (digital citizenship)
